Mahmood Khan Bridge (Pul-e Ashna)

The Mahmood Khan Bridge, also known as Pul-e Ashna, is one of the oldest urban bridges in Kabul. It was built during the reign of Amir Abdur Rahman Khan over the Kabul River. Constructed with stone and brick arches, the bridge once served as a main passage connecting the eastern and western parts of the city.
Its traditional engineering design reflects the beauty and durability of local Afghan architecture. The bridge still stands today and remains a symbol of Kabul’s cultural and historical heritage.
